History
Lower Secondary Historical Investigation
History came alive for the Lower Secondary students when they visited museums. The Secondary One students examined the lives of the immigrants from the early 1900s through their visit to the National Museum of Singapore, discovering the contributions and challenges of the early immigrants in Singapore. The immersive first-person views of the artefacts and exhibits also enabled the Secondary Two students to better understand the Japanese Occupation, and to empathise with the suffering that ensued during the visit to the Ford Factory of Singapore.

Historical Scene Investigation 2024
The Historical Scene Investigation (HSI) is a history related competition organised by the National Library Board (NLB) for secondary school students.
In this competition, students apply their historical research and inquiry skills to solve a historical event or mystery by utilizing National Library and National Archives resources.

In 2024, the challenge aimed to provide an exciting experience for students to put their historical inquiry and research skills to test where they explored Singapore’s post-independence policies between 1965 and 1979, examining how the policies impacted people at that time and the Singaporeans today.

We are proud to share AES was awarded the Bronze Team Award for the Challenge.
